The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:
An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions. Dr Linda Murray, from the Global Health program at the University of Tasmania in Australia Is conducting her Post-doc study at the ICHR. The study on “Understanding and responding to crying and sleep problems in infants in Central Vietnam: A qualitative investigation” aims to explore beliefs and practices about infant care, settling, feeding and sleeping in relation to child and mother health. This study has the secondary aim of investigating how suitable Australian infant sleeping and settling guidelines would be in the Vietnamese context.

Queensland University of Technology, Australia: Visiting Researchers
Bachelor students: Yearly, the Institute hosts students for short-term practical placement programs (in Public Health, Social Work and Nutrition). Examples of study topics of QUT students to date have included: accessibility for people living with disability to public services in Thua Thien Hue province; the sustainability of NGOs providing services for young people with disabilities; health education and health promotion in primary schools; mental health of children in high schools. University of North Carolina, USA: The ICHR hosts Masters student from UNC for short-term field experience and research projects. To date, the students have focused on mother and child health care. This is done in collaboration with the obstetrics and pediatrics departments of Hue UMP Hospital; TT Hue Provincial Report: Download
University of Sassari, Italy. Hue UMP has a long association with this university. In 2014, the ICHR hosted a final year medical student for her research into the relationship between the use of Self-Regulated Learning strategies, Coping Styles and Depression, Anxiety, and Stress among medical students.
