The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

Implementation Research & Tropical Medicine: An Introduction from the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine, GermanySeminar on Implementation Research & Tropical Medicine was organized by the Institute of Community Health Research, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy
On January 19th, 2024, the Institute of Community Health Research (ICHR), Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hue UMP) hosted an academic-exchanged seminar with experts from the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) from Hamburg, Germany.

The event brought together notable speakers (Dr. Joerg Blessmann and Dr. Benno Kreuels) from the Department of Implementation Research at BNITM. Participants from Hue UMP were lecturers, researchers, staff and students from the Faculty of Public Health, the Institute of Community Health Research, the Health Personnel Training Institute, and the Department of Infectious Disease – Tuberculosis.

The seminar exceeded expectations, transforming a knowledge-sharing session into a vibrant bridge between the academic communities of BNITM and Hue UMP. The BNITM team generously unveiled their ongoing project, offering valuable insights into their history, challenges, and unique approach to neglected tropical diseases. The team also emphasized the reasons behind their focus on neglected tropical diseases and their compelling research strategy for 2025-2030. An atmosphere of collaborative learning thrived, the seminar surpassed expectations, providing a platform for engaging discussions, knowledge sharing, and the establishment of meaningful connections between the academic communities of BNITM and Hue UMP. The organizers express gratitude for the active participation from all attendees, creating an environment conducive to collaborative learning and research advancement.
