The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:
An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions. Workshop: "Enhancing the Health Literacy and community services in improving the quality of care and patient safety in hospital"On 14 Sep 2016, Thu Duc Hospital, in collaboration with the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR) and Asian Health Literacy Association (AHLA), organized the International Scientific conference "Enhancing the health literacy and community services for improving the quality of care and patient safety in hospital". The conference was held at Hotel Nikko Saigon with the participation of the honorable delegates, Head of departments and health staffs of Thu Duc District hospital and other hospitals in Ho Chi Minh city.
The conference focused on reports on the following topics:
- Health Literacy is essential for health systems and healthcare quality (Prof. Peter WS Chang)
- Interprofessional Care Coordination: A Case Study of Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. (Prof. Paul Duong Tran)
- Health literacy: A new and effective approach in improving the quality of healthcare services in Vietnam. (A/Prof.Vo Van Thang)
- Managing research to improve quality of care in hospital. (Prof. Michael Dunne)
-Quality of Care in the Modern Hospital: First Do No Harm. (Prof. Laurence G.Branch)
- Health Literacy, Healthcare utilization and healthcare costs around the globe. (Dr. V. Duong Tuyen)
Concluding the Conference, Director of Thu Duc District Hospital - Dr. Nguyen Minh Quan received and synthesized the opinions of the participants. He also thanked to those who participated in the conference and made a commitment to change and improve the quality of care and patient safety in the hospital in thefuture.
