The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

Workshop on summarizing acitvities in the year 2014 and planning in the year 2015 of Institute For Community Health ResearchThe institute organized a workshop in 8th January 2015 in Hue city. The purpose of the workshop was summarizing activities in 2014 and planning in 2015. The participants of the workshop included A/Prof. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy (Vice-rector of Hue UMP), Prof. Michael Dunne (QUT), A/Prof. Vo Van Thang (Co- Director of ICHR), five coordinators from 5 project provinces and all members of the Institute.  In 2014, a website of the ICHR was activated to popularize and share information (iccchr-hue.org.vn) to interested audiences. 11 scientific researches from departments of Hue UMP and 5 project provinces were conducted and accepted with the financial and technical support of the institute. This activity enhanced the scientific research skills of health staff and provided scientific evidence to assist planning at the local level. Other notable activities of the ICHR last year were the participation of members of the institute in international conferences. Some of them carried off great prizes at these conferences such as the prizes for the best oral presentation at the International conference on public health pacific APAC, Malaysia; 2 awards for oral presentations at the 6th International conference on public health among greater Mekong sub-regional countries, Khon Kaen, Thailand. A/Prof. Vo Van Thang was invited to share information at the 2nd International conference on Health literacy in Taipei, Taiwan. The Institute has also received international students from undergraduate to graduate degree coming to Hue to study or to do research. Besides, the institutes provided consultant services to international NGOs in Vietnam such as midterm evaluation for projects of MSI Vietnam. The limitations and difficulties of the operation process were also discussed at the workshop. The experience lessons of last year will be useful for planning activities of the institute in the year 2015.  Some main activities was planned in the year 2015, including the financial and technical support of the institute to scientific researches, training courses based on local needs, training course on systematic review, host of 7th International conference on public health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Country in Hue, Vietnam and support to members of the Institutes participating in national and international workshops or conferences.  At last, on behalf of the Rector Board of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, A/Prof. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy expressed the support of leaders of the university to activities of the institute in the coming days and belief in the development of the ICHR in the future .
