The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:
An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions. The 6th International Conference on Public Health among GMS Countries in Khon Kaen, Thailand 2014From 6th to 7th of November 2014, the 6th Conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-region countries (GMS) was held in the Faculty of Public Health, Khon Kaen University, Thailand. The conference involved participants from various countries including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China, Australia, UK and the host Thailand. The delegation from Faculty of Public Health and ICHR, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy included 6 staffs and about 20 students of bachelor, master and doctoral programs also participated in the conference. The theme of this conference is “Health Services System in a Borderless Community: Human Resources Development for a District Health System”.

Figure2: A/Prof. Vo Van Thang as invited speaker at the conference The delegation from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy had 6 oral presentations and 12 posters presented in the conference. Among those, the oral presentation by Dr. Linda Murray has won the excellent Award; two other oral presentations by Dr. Nguyen Van Hung and Dr. Doan Vuong Diem Khanh have won the Complimentary Awards. In addition, two other poster presentations have also won the Awards of good presentation.
Figure3: ASEAN Deans of Public Health Faculties in the 6th GMS conference After the GMS conference, the Delegation of Faculty of Public Health and ICHR, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy also had chance to visit the Faculty of Public Health, Burapha University, Thailand. The Dean Board and staffs of the two faculties have shared about their achievements and strengths to each other and discussed on future cooperation on teaching, learning, research and staff/students exchange program.
