The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

ICHR joined with Department of Health - Quang Ngai province to conduct a training course on writing scientific research proposal

In order to help the local staffs at Quang Ngai province enhancing their capacity on community health research, the Institute for Community Health Research - Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy has accepted the invitation by Department of Health - Quang Ngai province to conduct a training course on development of research proposal for 4 days from 18th to 21st of June, 2015 at Central Hotel, Quang Ngai city.

The expert group including Associate Professor Vo Van Thang – the Director of ICHR, Dr Nguyen Van Hung – research fellow and Mr.Tran Binh Thang – assistant lecturer have facilitated the training course. The participants were 31 post-graduated staffs who have been the leaders of the public health centers and district hospitals of Quang Ngai province.

After four days, the training course has finished successfully. All participants highly appreciated the program in terms of well organized and content. The program is highly consistent and useful for their current position and work. The lecturers’ expertise and experience were highly appreciated so that helping the participants to gain their knowledge, attitude, and skills on writing research proposal.

Most of participants expressed their wish to participate in future advanced courses on research methodology provided by the ICRH and keep contact with ICHR experts for further technical consultations, sharing expertise, and to improve their research competency.

At the end of the course, there were 4 research proposals have been developed basically and are going to be finalized. These proposals concerned the urgent health problems such as autism among children aged under 6 years, street food safety, early puberty among female pupils aged under 11 years and hyperuricemia among type 2 diabetic patients.

The training course was also broadcasted by the local media.
