Within the framework of cooperation between the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR), Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HUMP) and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the delegation of Prof.Danielle Gallegos, Dr Mary Hannan Jones and nutrition-majoring students from Faculty of Health-QUT had paid a visit to the Faculty of Public Health-HUMP from Oct 3rd to 7th, 2014.

During three working days, plenty of activities have been taking place including interactive curriculum discussion, laboratory visit and seminars on nutrition-related topics. A delegation from QUT also paid a visit to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Hue Central Hospital where they were presented with the daily activities of the department, such as examination and nutrition consultation, patient-specific dietary as well as food processing.

As an indispensable part of the working program, various nutrition-tailoring seminars were held, including seminars on Pediatric Nutrition, Breastfeeding, the Process of Nutrition care, and integrated Foodservices system. The seminars attracted numerous students of preventive medicine and public health. On this occasion, an update teaching method for nutrition in medical schools was presented by QUT to the staff.

The QUT delegation and the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety also shared their views in a constructive discussion related to curriculum and teaching materials for nutrition, exchanged experiences in teaching and scientific research and discussed further cooperation between the two universities.

During the last day of visit to HUMP, QUT delegation had an official meeting with HUMP Rector Board to discuss and promote further cooperation between the two universities (for example, discussion on project for building the Nutrition Center at HUMP Hospital)
