The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:
An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions. Activities review 2015INSTITUTE FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH RESEARCH’ S ACTIVITIES REVIEW MEETING On 18th January 2016, the Institute for Community Health Research (ICHR) organized the review meeting regarding the activities of the Institute in 2015 at Faculty of Public Health, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HUMP).
ICHR organized the review meeting regarding the activities of the Institute in 2015 Participated in the meeting were A/Prof. Vo Tam and A/Prof. Nguyen Khoa Hung - Vice Rectors of HUMP; A/Prof. Vo Van Thang - Director of ICHR, Prof. Michael Dunne – Co-Director of ICHR, Dr. Doan Vuong Diem Khanh - Vice Director of ICHR, representatives of the Director Boards and coordinators of Provincial Health Departments of Thua Thien Hue, Danang, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Daklak, Khanh Hoa and Thu Duc District Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City).
A/Professor Vo Van Thang - Director of ICHR and Prof Michael Dunne - co-director in the meeting Opening the meeting, A/Prof. Vo Tam – Vice Rector of HUMP – on behalf of HUMP, gave his welcome speech to all participants and his remark about the role and contribution of the Institute in the past years, not only for the HUMP but also for Thua Thien Hue province and the central - highland region.
A/Prof. Vo Tam – Vice Rector of HUMP gave a remark about the role and contribution of the Institute in the past year Following the program, Dr. Doan Vuong Diem Khanh had a report on the activities of the Institute in 2015 and the proposed plan of activities of the Institute in 2016. The report presented the achievements in the past year activities of the Institute, including Scientific research, training course, workshop - International Conference, Student exchange program and sharing information regarding activites of ICHR on its website.
Dr. Doan Vuong Diem Khanh reported the activities of the Institute in 2015 and plan the activities of the Institute in 2016 In recent years, the performance of the Institute has received recognition not only from the national but also international countries. One of the most outstanding activities was the success of organizing the 7th International Conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Countries in Hue on 26-27th September 2015. This Conference has attracted the attention of the scientists from nearly 20 countries in the world as well as the media agency. This event was also considered as a remarkable activity on scientific research of Hue University in 2015. During 2015, the Institute had 30 articles published, in which 10 articles were published in international journals. We also organized the training courses based on the need of the coordinated provinces.
At the Meeting, we welcomed Prof. Malcolm A. Moore – Chief-editor of the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention. He shared information regarding the research collaboration activities on cancer prevention in Asia Pacific region and discussed potential co-operation with HUMP in the future.

Moore – Chief-editor of the Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention We listened to the feedbacks of the coordinators from the provinces, and had a good discuss about the difficulties and shortcomings in the ICHR’s activities in 2015. We also outlined ICHR’s activities in 2016. Besides the small grants for research, main activities of the Institute in 2016 will include: participation in Hue Scientific Festival in Hue; 48th APACPH Conference in Tokyo; 7th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Countries in Cambodia; Health Literacy Conference in Hai Phong City - Vietnam, organize training courses at the local level; cooperation with Frontier Journal for a special publication regarding the studies reported in GMS7 conference; and establish the Medical data analysis consulting unit, promoting the Institute's image both domestically and internationally.
