The 13th international conference on Public Health among Greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries on "Enhancing transdisciplinary collaborations on Education and Research to tackle priority public health issues in the new Era" has following objectives:

  • To strengthen the relationship of Faculties of Public Health among the Southeast Asian countries and in the world;
  • To share research results in the field of Public Health as well as priority public health issues among greater Mekong Sub-Regional countries;
  • To search for feasible solutions to enhance international collaboration among Public Health Faculties in Mekong Sub-Region and a wider area of the Southeast Asian countries about training and research in Public Health.

An abstract should be in one paragraph with no more 350 words, describing the major aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed sequence that includes: 1) Introduction: The overall purpose of the study and the research problem(s) you investigated; 2) Objective(s): The outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research; 3) Method: The basic design of the study; 4) Results: Major findings or trends found as a result of your analysis; and, 5) Conclusions: a brief summary of your interpretations and conclusions.

Thua Thien Hue provincial Association of Public Health and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Faculty of Public Health and the Institute for Community Health Research of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, will host a scientific conference on Public Health.  (updating...)

Prospects for public health research cooperation with the School of Health Sciences, Massey University, New Zealand in 2020-2021

From 15-29 February 2020, Director of the Institute of Community Health Research (ICHR), Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy visited and worked with the School of Health Sciences, Massey University at 2 Campuses in Wellington and Palmerston North, New Zealand, with funding from the International Visitor Research Fund (IVRF). Co-Director of ICHR, Prof. Michael Dunne from QUT University, Australia also participated in this mission.

Meetings and direct exchanges between ICHR and leaders of Massey University, and lecturers specialized in environmental health, nutrition, health literacy, maternal and child health and the elderly’s health… have promised many prospects for research cooperation between the two units in several areas of mutual interest.

During this time, A/Prof. Vo Van Thang spent a lot of time exchanging knowledge and experiences with Dr. Linda Murray, representative of the Massey University research group, to develop a comparative research collaboration proposal on maternal mental health and development of babies after birth. This research collaboration between the School of Health Sciences, Massey University and Monash University, Australia and the ICHR, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy was sponsored by Catalyst Grant, New Zealand for 2 years (2020-2021).

The visit to New Zealand of ICHR ended successfully and promised the prospect of cooperation with new and potential partners soon.
