The Institute for Community Health Research attended the NSA project closing ceremony in the period of 2017-2018 and developed the plan for 2019-2020 in Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province
The Institute for Community Health Research, a member of the consultative council for The project Scaling-up nutrition-sensitive agricultural initiatives in poor mountainous areas in Viet Nam and Lao PDR (NSA project) 2017 – 2020 attended the NSA project closing ceremony in the period of 2017-2018 and developed the plan for 2019-2020 in Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province from 26th to 28th December, 2018. Within the framework of the conference, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Gia – Lecturer, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Faculty of Public Health and Ms. Vu Thi Cuc – Research assistant, The Institute for Community Health Research - Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the discussions with participants on the evaluative plan of NSA project as well as establishment of community assessment team. The evaluative team carried out the assessment at 3 villages in Phu Mo commune (Phu Tien, Phu Giang and Lang Hoi). The assessment content focused on 3 areas: health, agriculture and education; which included intervention activities and changes after intervention using three assessment methods: household visits (observation), personal interviews and group discussions.
From the community assessment activities, NSA project's Closing Ceremony for the period of 2017-2018 and the 10th anniversary of cooperation between Dong Xuan district and MCNV (2008-2018) were then held at the Dong Xuan district People's Committee Hall. At the workshop, the envolved units of the project presented the results of the project in the period of 2017-2018 as well as the difficulties and challenges in the implementation process that need to be solved; discussed learned lessons and planned for the period 2019-2020.
